Is it possible to get Fortnite V-Bucks or are they locked behind real world money?

You have come to the right place!

On this page we explain how to get more V-Bucks for free in Fortnite: Battle Royale, with a breakdown of how to earn V-Bucks from daily logins, timed missions, quests and Battle Pass challenges.

To bag your cosmetic goodies in Fortnite: Battle Royale, you’ll need to exchange real world currency for the in-game currency, V-bucks. With these you’ll be able to purchase all sorts of new outfits for your character, new pickaxes, gliders and the like.

Right now, the only way to earn V-Bucks in bulk is through tapping into your bank account and forking out real world money. It’s a case of choosing a bundle of V-Bucks which suits your budget, and often, you’ll need to spend a fair amount to get that cosmetic you really want.

It’s not all doom and gloom, though. Thankfully there are ways of getting yourselves V-Bucks for free.

How to get V-Bucks in Fortnite
Below we’ll take you through all the ways you can get free V-Bucks to spend in Fortnite: Battle Royale. For the most part, you’ll need to own its PvE component, Fortnite: Save the World. Owning the Battle Pass also helps. So, there’s no entirely free method, but fork out a bit of cash and you’ll be reaping the rewards for a very long time indeed.

Free V-Bucks from Save the World Daily Log-Ins
This is the easiest – albeit slowest – way to get your hands on an extra Bucks injection. Logging into the game each day will provide you with a small amount of the currency, and if you string together a large number of daily logins, you’ll hit reward milestones. These milestones grant you big V-Bucks rewards.

For example, if you login for 11 days straight, you’ll receive 50 V-Bucks. Keep this up until you hit your 28th daily login and you’ll receive 300 V-Bucks as a reward. This daily reward scheme keeps going, right up until you’ve hit day 336. Manage to login every single day for 336 days and you’ll receive a whopping 1000 V-Bucks.

All in all, if you manage to scoop up every single daily login bonus, you’ll be 10,000 V-Bucks richer. So, it’s well worth at least logging in even if you’re not planning on playing the game that day.

Free V-Bucks from Save the World Timed Missions
Fortnite: Save the World features Timed Missions which grant bonus rewards for a limited time. They appear on the map with a clock sign, and these missions rotate every 24 hours. There are many rewards to be had, but only Mini-Boss missions grant free V-Bucks.

Rewards for completing these Mini-Boss missions usually add up to 25-40 V-Bucks depending on how hard they are, and often there are three Timed Missions to complete per day.

V-Bucks from Battle Pass Challenges
Each week you’ll gain access to three free Weekly Challenges. They usually involve finding specific items across the map, eliminating enemies, destroying structures and the like. It’s essentially all stuff you can accomplish simply by investing some time in the game.

Complete these challenges and you’ll earn Battle Stars for your efforts. In turn, you’ll begin levelling up your free Battle Pass and start climbing up the rankings. Many of the rewards you’ll earn for reaching certain tiers of the battle pass will be cosmetic (Gliders, Pickaxes etc.), but a handful of tiers grant you a 100 V-Bucks a piece.

If you own the premium Battle Pass, you’ll earn regular free V-Buck rewards as you level it up by earning XP.
